The South Sound Dance Company is part of South Sound Dance's pre-professional program. It is specifically designed for students between the ages of 5 and 18 years who are smart, driven, and love dance! Our Company dancers are committed to dance and train intensively in the art of dance, studying classical ballet and modern dance, jazz, musical theater, tap, contemporary, hip hop, and more. Students who audition and are selected to be members in our Company program take between of 3 and 15 hours of dance per week depending on their age and skill level. They perform in the local community, compete at dance competitions, attend conventions and workshops, and put on their own show!
We strive to teach these kids to be not only well rounded dancers, but well rounded people - passionate, dedicated, and ready to take on the world! This is a fantastic program to be a part of, I truly believe it shapes and molds these young people in the best way possible, even if they don't plan to be a professional dancer.
Many of our past students who have been been through this program are now professional dancers, teachers, dance studio owners, lawyers, doctors, engineers, biochemists and more! Our graduating senior from our 2018 dance season is currently double majoring at Colorado Mesa University (with Dance as one of her majors) and received numerous scholarships to various colleges.
