When is it?

Performances are June 18. 20 & 21

No dress rehearsals at the theatre for spring recital. 

Where is it? 

CAPITAL HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMING ART CENTER *new venue*

2707 Conger Ave NW, Olympia, WA 98502

All dress rehearsals and performances are at the show venue. NOT at SSD.

When and how do we get tickets? 

Ticket info will become available at the end of May/beginning of June. 

SSD families get first access to tickets with a of limit 4 tickets max per show/per family then, tickets go on sale to the public with no ticket limit after the first week. 

YES, OUR SHOWS DO SELL OUT...PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS DURING PRESALE

They will range from about $20 - 30 per ticket.

Why do we have to pay for tickets? 

SSD puts on a fully staffed, professional production so that you can sit back and relax! 

Your tickets pay for our team & the performing arts centers team to put on the best show we can for you. 

Complete with audio, lighting, videography and our full SSD staff caring for your children backstage and more! 

What are we doing for hair and makeup?

ORCA (6 and under) - Hair should be in a high curly pony. 

SPARK/IGNITE (7+) - Hair should be in a low ponytail for all except for ballet classes, ballet class = low bun. 

How do I find practice videos and music? 

Once choreography is finished, videos and music can be found HERE - Look for the "files" and/or "music" button! 

How long is it? 

Show runtime is about 1.5-2hr 

Does SSD take pictures? 

Yes! Group & individual photos will be taken of all youth performing dancers. 

(Remember that flash photography and video is not allowed in the theatre at performances. You can take photos on your cellphone without flash)

All recital media is an additional optional expense, Media packages start at $55

ORCA Holiday Show Photo week - May 4 - 10 

SPARK/IGNITE Recital Photo week - May 12 - 18

Make up photos - May 10 or 17 from 9-10am (You must save your spot in advance)

Is there a dress rehearsal? 

For recital ORCA, Spark & Ignite 1 classes DO NOT have dress rehearsal. 

We will have rehearsals at the studio and theatre tour timeslots for dancers to see the space and the stage. 

Is my child backstage the entire time? 

Yes! All dancers are checked in at the beginning of the show and remain backstage with our SSD staff and a few carefully selected parent volunteers through the entire show. 

This is for your dancers safety. Dancers will not be released during the show or intermission.

 All dancers must be signed out at the end of the performance. 

We have water, snacks and many things to keep them entertained while they wait to perform. Dancers return to the stage for a final bow at the end of the show. 

 If you have an extenuating circumstance where your dancers needs to be picked up early, please reach out and we will be happy to help find a solution. 

The only exception are our Tiny 2s dancers - families of 2 year olds are asked to pick up their dancers after they perform.
