What's our Summer Intensive About?
At South Sound Dance we truly believe in educating our dancers, enriching them, and ultimately inspiring them to be the best individuals they can be. With our Summer Dance Intensive program, we bring in a variety of guest artists and master instructors from around the country with different backgrounds in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap, vocal, theater, and more to create a schedule of classes that are challenging, fun, and motivating! The goal of the Summer Intensive is to expose intermediate dancers age 7 - 11 and intermediate/advanced dancers age 12 & up to curriculum and instructors they are not exposed to regularly to prepare them for advanced dance, college, and professional dance. Some examples of additional classes offered during this program that are so important to our young dancers are - Composition, Partner Work, Dance History, Auditioning, and health and wellness.
If you or your dancers are looking for a smaller program or even just a few days this program is for you! Dancers can register for a single day or for the full 8 day program at a much lower cost than attending a private convention or college program in a much more personalized setting with smaller class sizes.

Brandon Coleman
Coming all the way from New York City, Brandon Coleman is a free lance artist whose most recent work is with the Keigwin + Company and Visceral Dance Chicago. Brandon is a sought after master teacher and will be teaching Contemporary, Composition, Improvisation, and Jazz, and more. Learn more @BrandonColemanDance
Raffles Durbin
Also hailing from New York City is Mr. Raffles Durbin. Raffles is a Company member with Neville Dance Theater and an expert at Ballet and Contemporary technique as well as Partner Work. Laura Gutierrez
Laura Gutierrez
Laura is a free lance artist out of Houston, Texas who has performed works by Jonah Baker since 2012 and was named one of Dance Magazine's "Top 25 to Watch" in 2014. Meg Southcott

Meg Southcott is an instructor and choreographer out of Steamboat Colorado. Meg recently started her own company forty106danceproject! She will be teaching a variety of classes such as Modern, Contemporary and Jazz!
Kristen Grace
Kristen Grace is a local hip hop and jazz funk favorite! She is also a member of Audacity Cru and is an instructor at The Beat Box.She will be teaching Jazz Funk and Hip Hop at this years summers intensive! Learn more about Kristen at Kristengracedance.com.
Aja Dale

Aja Dale is another local hip hop and jazz funk rock star in the Olympia community. She is a part of the local Audacity Cru and has worked and performed with Daniel Cruz out of Seattle. She will be teaching Jazz Funk and Hip Hop at this years summers intensive!
